What happens when you grow up reading Stephen King and watching Star Trek?

You end up becoming a science fiction writer with a penchant for horror like me!

I'm a speculative science fiction author and screenwriter based in Oregon, and my novels are set in the Pacific Northwest both in present and future times. I like to focus on tales that delve deeper into the nature of good and evil, talk about what it's like to be an outsider, and explore the nature of love during trying times.

Writers like Martha Wells, NK Jemisin, Robert A. Heinlein, Stephen King, Stephen Baxter, and Ursula K. LeGuin are my heroes, and their stories hold a special place in my heart.

My current titles include Feeding, Here, Refuge, Perfect, New Caviar, Wilderness, Darkness and the upcoming novel Home, as well as numerous short stories.

I currently call Eugene, Oregon home, where I live with a pug from another planet and a maniac parkour kitten.
