Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
2023 has been a very intense year for me, filled with near-death experiences, personal loss, and also a beautiful rebirth into the world of the living.
During the time it took to diagnose my neurological condition I suffered some permanent nerve damage, and that has very much affected my writing projects for the year.
Instead of working on the final installment of the Orowais series, Home, I had to pick a smaller project that would be easier on my system as I rehabilitated my injuries.
So I decided to go back to the beginning of my writing career, and revisit my first novel - Wilderness.
This story came from a real experience I had near the Three Sisters Wilderness here in Oregon, and then it spawned a screenplay that has begun to gain traction.
I changed the story fairly dramatically through the adaptation process into the screenplay, and I liked that new version so much, I decided to re-adapt the original novel to match the new screenplay.
The project has morphed my original novella I treated like the black sheep of my collection into a bona-fide novel that I'm very proud to re-release today.
This book started my adventure towards becoming an author, and I find it poetic that it will finally find its wider release on the 10th year anniversary of when I started it.
I hope you will check it out, and also enjoy my other titles as this New Year begins.
Wishing you a happy and safe 2024, and thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Steph
